Chateau d’Issan位於波爾多瑪歌產區，在1855年分級制度裡獲選為第三級酒莊。莊園的歷史源遠流長，甚至早在12世紀的文件中便已提及。悠遠的歷史中，莊園的主人多如過江之鯽，但最出名者還屬塞居家族(Segur)-該家族曾經同時擁有拉圖堡(Chateau Latour)與拉菲堡(Chateau Lafite Rothschild)。
Chateau d’Issan應是全波爾多最早種植釀酒葡萄並以優良酒質的成名者，相傳法皇亨利二世的結婚大典選用的就是Chateau d’Issan葡萄酒，在19世紀後半的奧地利國王Franz Joseph一世也曾說過：「Chateau d’Issan是對皇帝的貢品，也是對神的獻品。」，因而成為掌政時期的奧地利皇室御用酒，深受國家貴族青睞。但經過第一次、第二次世界大戰與1930年代的經濟蕭條時代，莊園頹傾，園區荒廢，酒質黯然。幸好，克魯斯家族(Cruse)在二戰終結當年的1945年購下城堡，並在幾年後大幅翻新釀酒窖、重新植葡萄藤，才逐漸恢復酒莊昔日光榮。1997年，年方30的艾曼紐．克魯斯(Emmanuel Cruse)接掌經營大任後，在1999年建立新穎的釀酒窖，採購容量大小不一(7,300-20,000公升)的37個不鏽鋼發酵槽，以利分區地塊精確釀酒，還在2002年購入更多的葡萄篩選輸送帶，於2006年更裝設濕度控制器，以精確控制酒質培養環境。在艾曼紐的帶領下，酒莊出產的酒款保持了瑪歌產區應有的芬芳氣韻，酒體也顯得更加濃郁豐潤。而這款Blason d’Issan副牌紅葡萄酒，由莊園的同一釀酒團隊，採用特定地塊出產的嚴選葡萄果實釀造，在葡萄酒Merlot品種比例上稍為調高，以便飲家可以在早期品嚐酒莊精湛手藝及作為窺探當年正牌風味的先驅酒款。
